Ingredients

  • 1 1-lb roll breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 8-oz cans refrigerated crescent rolls

Equipment

  • Pizza Cutter
  • Small Cookie Scoop
  • Food Processor (optional)
  • 10-inch Skillet
  • Meat Masher Tool
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF (190ºC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine cooked, crumbled sausage and softened cream cheese in a bowl. Mix until fully blended.
  3. (Optional: Pulse the mixture in a food processor for a finer texture.)
  4. Separate crescent dough into triangles. Using a pizza cutter, slice each triangle in half lengthwise to create two smaller triangles.
  5. Scoop a small amount of sausage filling (about 1 tablespoon) onto the wide end of each triangle using a small cookie scoop.
  6. Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip.
  7. Place each crescent seam-side down on a prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Sausage Tip: Jimmy Dean sausage is recommended, but turkey sausage is a great substitute.
Texture Tip: A food processor helps evenly incorporate sausage and cream cheese.
Low-Fat Options: Low-fat cream cheese and reduced-fat crescent rolls work well and taste the same.
Make Ahead: Filling can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge.
Tools: Pizza cutter makes slicing crescent dough easier; a small cookie scoop provides uniform filling amounts.
Serving: Perfect hot out of the oven or after cooling to room temp—great for parties or casual breakfast.
